DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 4 (Four): (1) E. Ingraham & Co., Bristol, Conn., "Faultless" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a light wood case with black ornaments, c1884; (2) New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn., "Euphrates" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day time, strike and alarm movement in a black walnut case, c1885. (3) E. Ingraham Clock Co., unidentified shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a walnut case, c1885. (4) Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Nereid" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a walnut case, c1881.
CONDITION: (1) The case retains its original finish, somewhat alligatored. The paper dial has discolored. The hands are original. The door glass is a replacement. The movement is signed; (2) The case has a dark, original finish. One rosette is missing from the right side of the case. The original painted dial shows some loss at the winding arbors. The hands are original. The movement is signed. The stenciled door glass is original. (3) The case is in very good condition with only a very light finish remaining. The paper dial needs to be replaced. The hands are original. The stenciled door glass is original. The movement is signed. (4) The case has been refinished. The two finials projecting downwards from the blocks either side of the dial are missing. The paper dial is a replacement. The hands are original. The movement is signed. The stenciled door glass is original, but worn.
